These terms govern your use of the Latent website, our applications, and any purchases made through Latent. By using our website or our software, you agree to these terms.

Using the website

You’re welcome to browse, read, and share Latent.

Please don’t misuse the website by attempting to disrupt it, interfere with its operation, compromise its security, or access it in ways it was not intended to be used.

Intellectual property

The Latent name, logo, software, design, writing, and other original content belong to Latent unless otherwise stated.

Please don’t copy, redistribute, modify, or use them without permission.

Your photographs remain entirely your own. Latent claims no ownership over anything you create with our software.

The applications

Latent applications are licensed, not sold.

Purchases and subscriptions made through the App Store are processed by Apple and are subject to Apple’s standard End User License Agreement and App Store terms, together with these Terms of Use.

The Field — The Moment and The Ritual community

The Field is the public space shared by The Moment and Latent The Ritual where you can publish photographs. When you publish, you keep every right to your work. You grant us only what is technically necessary to run the Field: permission to store, display, and transmit the content you publish, until you take it back or delete your account.

Publish only work you have the right to publish. The Field is small and looked after, and these things do not belong in it: content that is unlawful or infringes someone else’s rights; nudity or sexual content, violence or gore, or content that shocks for its own sake; harassment, hate, or attacks on people; spam, advertising, or content published to deceive; other people’s private information.

The app provides tools to report content and members and to block anyone whose work you do not want to see. We review reports promptly — objectionable content is acted on within 24 hours of a report — and we may remove content or end an account that breaks these rules, without notice where the violation is serious.

You must be at least 16 to create a community account. You can delete your account at any time from inside the app; deletion removes your profile, your published work from the Field, and the Circle content held for your account from our service.

Circles and Envelopes

A Circle is a private shared space for invited members. When you place photographs, videos, notes, or other content in a Circle, you keep every right to it. You grant us only the permission needed to store and transmit that content to the Circle’s members until you remove it, close the Circle, or delete your account.

Ordinary Circle content is private to its members but is not encrypted end-to-end. Envelopes are sealed on the sender’s device; our service delivers them without holding the keys.

Invite only people you trust. What you remove — or a Circle you close — is gone from our service; a copy another member already saved to their own device is beyond our reach, as with anything shared. The same community rules that protect the Field apply inside Circles.

Website purchases

When products are offered directly through our website, purchases will be processed by our payment provider.

Applicable pricing, payment, and refund terms will always be presented before a purchase is completed.

Refunds

Refunds for App Store purchases are handled by Apple through its own refund process.

For purchases made directly through the Latent website, refund terms will be provided at checkout.

Availability

We build Latent with care, but we cannot guarantee that our website or software will always be available, uninterrupted, secure, or free from errors.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Latent is provided “as is” and without warranties of any kind.

Our liability is limited to the extent permitted by applicable law.

Changes

We may update these Terms of Use from time to time.

When we do, the date at the top of this page will be revised.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Lebanon.
