Privacy Policy

Latent is made by one person, Habib Saleh, in Joun, Lebanon. This policy explains what little we collect, and why. The short version: we ask for as little as possible, we don't track you, and we never sell your information.

What we collect

The only thing we ever ask for is your email address, and only if you choose to subscribe to our newsletter. If you write to us, we also receive your message and your email address. That is all. This website uses no analytics, no advertising, and no tracking cookies.

The newsletter

If you subscribe, your email address is stored and managed by Buttondown, our email provider, and used only to send occasional updates about Latent. Every email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can leave at any time.

Your photographs

Latent is a darkroom, not a cloud service. The app develops your photographs on your own device, and we never receive, store, or have any access to them. If you keep your photos in iCloud or save your library to iCloud Drive, that syncing runs through your own Apple account, under your control, not ours.

Payments

Purchases for the Latent apps on the App Store are handled by Apple. Website purchases, including The Lab / OFX plugin, are handled by Paddle. We do not receive your full payment card details. Paddle may provide us with purchase records such as your name, email address, product purchased, transaction ID, country, and tax or billing status so we can fulfill the purchase and provide support.

The services we rely on

We keep our tools few: Buttondown for the newsletter, Apple for App Store purchases, Paddle for website checkout and payments, and Cloudflare for website hosting and our domain. Each maintains its own privacy practices.

Your choices

You can unsubscribe at any time, and you can ask us to delete anything we hold about you by writing to [email protected]. Depending on where you live (for example the EU, the UK, or California) you may have additional rights over your data, and we will honor them.

Children

Latent is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.

If this policy changes, we will update this page and the date above.
